This Women's History Month, I've been reflecting on my journey in technology, particularly in product management, and the incredible women I've had the privilege of working with and supporting. It's a journey that's been anything but linear, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
My path to product management, like many others, was circuitous, a winding road of learning and discovery. But it's precisely those twists and turns that have shaped my perspective and fueled my passion for lifting others up, not just in tech, but also in the vital field of healthcare, through my work with the HBA’s Women in Healthcare Give Back.
The Heart of My Work: Lifting Others Up
When I think about my biggest reward as a woman in tech and leadership, it's not about the titles or the compensation. It's about the moments I've been able to help another woman see her potential, to encourage her to take that leap, to provide guidance and support when she needs it most.
It’s deeply rewarding to support women who are excited to learn, committed to their work, and ready to grow, through mentorship, coaching, or just being in their corner. Whether they're on my team, part of the WIH Give Back network, or just someone I've connected with, seeing those individuals thrive is my proudest professional accomplishment.
And it's not just about mentorship. It's about creating environments where all people can truly flourish. In my current role, I'm incredibly proud to be part of a team with a strong female presence, especially in engineering. It's rare in tech, and it's so important that these women see that leadership roles are within reach.
I've been fortunate to work with leaders who share this vision, and especially with strong female allies. Someone who comes to mind is Jackie Kent. I had the chance to work on her team in a previous role, and we’ve remained connected. She’s a true example of what this commitment looks like in action. She's a powerful advocate for women, and I've seen firsthand how her support can make a tangible difference in a career. It's incredibly inspiring to see women supporting women to drive real change, and it's a reminder of the importance of female allyship.
Understanding the Unique Journey
Being a woman in tech, and in healthcare, comes with its own set of experiences and challenges. It's not about comparing ourselves to men, but rather acknowledging that our journeys can be different. We navigate different expectations, different societal pressures, and sometimes, different obstacles.
That’s why I believe so strongly in the power of understanding. I strive to be someone who truly empathizes with the complexities of navigating both career and life—to listen, to commiserate, and to support my team and those around me. Whether they’re working moms or dads, caregivers, or individuals with values and priorities different from my own, I want the support I offer to reflect and respect those differences. Because ultimately, helping those around me to thrive means meeting
them where they are.
Everyone's journey is unique, but having someone who gets it, who champions you, and who supports you can make all the difference.
My Vision for the Future
My goal is to continue developing future leaders, especially women, across both tech and healthcare. I want to create opportunities, open doors, and provide the guidance and support that I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy throughout my career. I’ve had the honor of working for many women and men who have supported me, advocated for me, and helped me on my path and it is my responsibility and privilege to pay that forward.

I believe in the power of representation. When women see other women in leadership roles, it inspires them to dream bigger and reach higher, the path feels real, and achievable. And when we support each other, we create a ripple effect that can transform an entire industry.
This Women's History Month, I encourage you to reflect on your own journey and consider how you can lift others up. Whether it's through mentorship, advocacy, or simply being a supportive colleague, we all have the power to make a difference.
Let's continue to celebrate the incredible women who have paved the way and work together to create a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
